XXIV International Film and Tv Festival
Rome, Sunday 19th - Wednesday 22th September 2010
From Sunday 19 to Wednesday 22 September 2010 -a month earlier than usual- the XXIV edition of the International Festival of Cinema and Television Eurovisioni will take place. This year most of the event will take place at the French Academy of Rome, in Villa Medici and in Palazzo Farnese-French Embassy, while Goethe Institut Rom will host the inaugural evening.
“End or return of Television ?” is the provisional title of the 2010 edition, that will focus on the future of the dual system private-public, when convergence and digitalisation are changing the rules of the game and when is getting closer the 2012 deadline for the complete switch off of the audiovisual analogical signal within European Union countries. This theme will be discussed during the International days (September 19-21) while Wednesday 22, will be, as usual, dedicated to national matters.
In parallel during the whole period will take place the traditional festival of « Cinema of Public service », in collaboration with BBC, ARD, France Télévisions, Rai Fiction, RTVE and TVP but also with the support of Goethe Institut Rom, the French Academy in Villa Medici, the cultural office of the French Embassy at Palazzo Farnese, Instituto Cervantes and Istituto Polacco in Rome.
